Designed and Built in Utah — About 15 Minutes Away
Our structures are made in Utah — designed, engineered, and CNC-cut at our facility in Payson, about 15 minutes away. Every one of the 7,000+ structures we’ve delivered nationwide since 2008 started as raw timber on that shop floor.
For a Spanish Fork buyer, that means an in-person consultation, timber cut in-state, and real joinery you can drive to before you commit. We’ve built here, too, including the backyard pavilion pictured here.
It’s also why the U.S. Small Business Administration named us the 2026 SBA Utah District Manufacturing Small Business of the Year.
Designing Timber Structures for Spanish Fork’s Climate & Lifestyle
Spanish Fork sits at about 4,700 feet where Spanish Fork Canyon opens onto the valley, with the Spanish Fork River running through town. The city’s published design criteria list a 30-inch frost depth and point to the Utah State University snow load tool for ground snow load, which rises with elevation, so a lot near the canyon mouth is engineered to its own figure. Summers are warm as well: the Western Regional Climate Center’s record for the Spanish Fork Power House station shows an average July high of about 93°F, which is why real shade matters here.
Spanish Fork’s building division handles permits and inspections, and the city requires a building permit for every accessory structure; permits for structures under 200 square feet are free. City code limits detached accessory structures to 15% of the lot (10% outside the home’s setbacks) and asks structures over 200 square feet to sit on concrete footings at least 5 feet from side and rear lines. We work through those requirements with you during design, before a single beam is cut.
Our standard engineering starts at 115 mph. Where the project requires a higher design wind speed, the structure is engineered for that requirement. We also engineer to your lot’s real snow load, soil, and exposure.
Neighborhoods we design for:
Lots near the canyon mouth
Lots on the east side near Spanish Fork Canyon and the river, where grade, views, and snow exposure shape the footing and roof design.
Newer east-side subdivisions
Newer homes and yards, like those around Legacy Farms, where a timber structure becomes the first big feature of a new backyard.
Older homes near Main Street
Established lots near City Park and downtown, where a structure has to fit a mature yard and an older home.
Spanish Fork takes its name from the Spanish Fork River and canyon. The town was settled in 1851 and incorporated in 1855, and its Icelandic heritage is still marked by the Icelandic monument and lighthouse on Canyon Road, first dedicated in 1938. Every July, Fiesta Days fills the town with rodeos, parades, and fireworks. A timber structure earns its place here by fitting that heritage and standing up to real snow and wind. Structures We Build in Spanish Fork
Every structure is a Custom-Engineered Kit — purpose-built for your space, architecture, and lot.
Custom Pergolas: Best Fit For Spanish Fork
With July highs averaging about 93°F, a Spanish Fork patio needs shade that actually works. A pergola has to deliver real shade and read as a permanent part of the home, not a mail-order add-on, whether it sits behind an older home near Main Street or in a new east-side backyard. That’s where custom engineering separates from a catalog cover.

Many aluminum and light-frame pergola kits provide significantly less coverage, while our ShadePrint™ approach measures actual coverage and can reach 80–85%, varying by orientation and time of day. Unlike metal, timber has low thermal conductivity, so it doesn’t heat the skin as quickly in the sun and surfaces stay more comfortable to the touch. Engineered for Spanish Fork’s frost depth and canyon-mouth lots, the Dovetail Difference® interlocks the timbers without metal brackets or exposed fasteners, with no visible hardware to loosen. Add lighting and power through TimberVolt® — engineered in, not bolted on.
The same craftsmanship scales up: Spanish Fork’s businesses, parks, and event venues use commercial timber pavilions to turn a patio into a year-round, instantly recognizable space.
Our Timber Frame Design & Build Process in Spanish Fork

Design Consultation
In person or remote, designed around your lot, home, and views.
Engineering for Spanish Fork Conditions
Engineered to your lot’s soil, grade, snow load, and wind, based on the specific conditions of your property. We provide engineering documentation to support permitting and stamped drawings prepared by a licensed engineer where the project and jurisdiction require them.
Fabrication & Quality Control
Every timber is cut in-house at our own Payson shop, on CNC machinery we own and run ourselves — not sent out to a third-party fabricator. That means the same team that engineers your Spanish Fork structure also cuts it, with one line of control and accountability from design to delivery.
Warranty Coverage
Every Western Timber Frame structure carries a limited structural warranty. Length runs from 3 years on Deck Structures to 25 years on the 12K Series, based on the series you purchase.
Delivery & Installation Support
Ships as a Custom-Engineered Kit with complete instructions; DIY-friendly, or we can coordinate installation support.
We build around local permitting, including Spanish Fork City’s requirements for frost depth, snow load, accessory-structure setbacks, and lot coverage.
