Every Kit Is Engineered

Every Western Timber Frame kit ships with a full set of stamped structural engineering plans. These plans are tailored to your structure’s design and adjusted for the load requirements of your specific location.

The engineering covers everything from post footings to ridge connections. It accounts for the roofing material you choose, the upgrades you select, and the environmental forces your structure will face over its lifetime.

This is included with every kit. You do not pay separately for engineering, and you do not need to hire your own structural engineer.

Snow Load

Calculated for your specific location using local ground snow data. Roof pitch, span, and roofing material all factor into the design. Structures in heavy snow regions get heavier timber and reinforced connections.

Wind Load

Engineered to meet the wind exposure requirements for your site. Open terrain, coastal zones, and elevated locations each require different bracing and anchorage calculations.

Seismic

For locations in seismic zones, the engineering includes lateral force resistance and connection detailing that meets or exceeds local code requirements.
