It’s our lightest, most silvered finish — a soft grey-white that gives new timber the graceful, silvered character of naturally aged driftwood from day one. It’s a timeless beauty and a bit of an art — a classic, century-old finishing tradition that’s as beautiful now as ever. Like a fine wine, it’s made to get better with age: because Bleach is designed to weather naturally and only grow more beautiful with time, you never have to re-coat it. It lays down a soft, silvered tone while the rough-sawn texture shows through, so the timber keeps its real-wood character, just softened to a light, driftwood silver. It’s a Sherwin-Williams water-based finish, applied in two shop coats and backrolled so it works into the rough-sawn surface — low-odor and low-VOC — and unlike our pigmented colors, it’s made to weather and silver naturally over time. On a pergola, pavilion, or gazebo, Bleach reads breezy, organic, and effortlessly relaxed.

Is Bleach a solid or a transparent stain?
It lays down real, light color — not a clear finish. Because it’s worked into rough-sawn timber, the rough-sawn texture shows through, so it looks like naturally silvered wood rather than a flat coat of paint. (Only our Natural finish is clear.)
Will Bleach keep changing over time?
Yes — and that’s by design. Like a fine wine, Bleach is made to get better with age: it silvers and settles further over time, only growing more beautiful. There’s nothing to correct or refresh — you simply let it come into its own.
Can I pair Bleach with another stain?
Bleach is meant to stand on its own, so we don’t use it in a two-tone. The beauty of Bleach is a single, natural finish that ages gracefully — adding a second stain would work against the weather-naturally, no-upkeep idea at its heart.
