Designed and Built in Utah — About 45 Minutes Away
Our structures are made in Utah — designed, engineered, and CNC-cut at our facility in Payson, about 45 minutes away. Every one of the 7,000+ structures we’ve delivered nationwide since 2008 started as raw timber on that shop floor.
For a Saratoga Springs buyer, that means an in-person consultation, timber cut in-state, and real joinery you can drive to before you commit. We’ve built here, too, including a 12-by-30-foot pergola for Kneaders Bakery in 2012.
It’s also why the U.S. Small Business Administration named us the 2026 SBA Utah District Manufacturing Small Business of the Year.
Designing Timber Structures for Saratoga Springs’ Climate & Lifestyle
Saratoga Springs sits at about 4,550 feet on the northwest shore of Utah Lake, with the Jordan River on its eastern side and the Lake Mountains to the west. The city’s published design criteria list a 30-inch frost line and a 31 psf ground snow load. Summers are warm as well: the Western Regional Climate Center’s record for the Utah Lake Lehi station (1928–2003) shows an average July high of about 90°F, which is why real shade matters here.
Saratoga Springs’ building division handles permits and inspections. According to the city, a one-story detached accessory structure of 200 square feet or less doesn’t need a building permit, but accessory buildings still can’t occupy more than 30% of any side or rear yard, and their color and construction should be compatible with the home. Lots near Utah Lake may also fall under the city’s floodplain rules. We work through those requirements with you during design, before a single beam is cut.
Our standard engineering starts at 115 mph. Where the project requires a higher design wind speed, the structure is engineered for that requirement. We also engineer to your lot’s real snow load, soil, and exposure.
Neighborhoods we design for:
Lakeshore lots near Utah Lake
Lots along the northwest shore of Utah Lake, where open exposure, views, and the city’s floodplain rules shape placement and footings.
Wildflower and Mt. Saratoga
Newer master-planned communities, where a timber structure becomes the first big feature of a new backyard.
Lots near the Lake Mountains
Western lots toward the Lake Mountains, where grade and views shape the footing and roof design.
Beck’s Saratoga Springs took its name from the famous resort in Saratoga Springs, New York, and from owner John Beck. The area was incorporated in December 1997, and the city says it doubled in size between 2020 and 2025. Today residents can reserve pavilions at city parks like Shay Park, Inlet Park, and Neptune Park. A timber structure earns its place here by fitting that lakeside history and standing up to real snow and wind. For statewide engineering and climate detail, see our Utah timber structures page.
Structures We Build in Saratoga Springs
Every structure is a Custom-Engineered Kit — purpose-built for your space, architecture, and lot.
Custom Pergolas: Best Fit For Saratoga Springs
With July highs around 90°F and wide-open lake views, a Saratoga Springs patio needs shade that actually works. A pergola has to deliver real shade and read as a permanent part of the home, not a mail-order add-on, whether it sits in a brand-new backyard or on a lot facing the lake. That’s where custom engineering separates from a catalog cover.

Many aluminum and light-frame pergola kits provide significantly less coverage, while our ShadePrint™ approach measures actual coverage and can reach 80–85%, varying by orientation and time of day. Unlike metal, timber has low thermal conductivity, so it doesn’t heat the skin as quickly in the sun and surfaces stay more comfortable to the touch. Engineered for Saratoga Springs’ lakeside lots and new subdivisions, the Dovetail Difference® interlocks the timbers without metal brackets or exposed fasteners, with no visible hardware to loosen. Add lighting and power through TimberVolt® — engineered in, not bolted on.
The same craftsmanship scales up: Saratoga Springs’ businesses, parks, and event venues use commercial timber pavilions to turn a patio into a year-round, instantly recognizable space.

In person or remote, designed around your lot, home, and views.
Engineering for Saratoga Springs Conditions
Engineered to your lot’s soil, grade, snow load, and wind, based on the specific conditions of your property. We provide engineering documentation to support permitting and stamped drawings prepared by a licensed engineer where the project and jurisdiction require them.
Fabrication & Quality Control
Every timber is cut in-house at our own Payson shop, on CNC machinery we own and run ourselves — not sent out to a third-party fabricator. That means the same team that engineers your Saratoga Springs structure also cuts it, with one line of control and accountability from design to delivery.
Warranty Coverage
Every Western Timber Frame structure carries a limited structural warranty. Length runs from 3 years on Deck Structures to 25 years on the 12K Series, based on the series you purchase.
Delivery & Installation Support
Ships as a Custom-Engineered Kit with complete instructions; DIY-friendly, or we can coordinate installation support.
We build around local permitting, including Saratoga Springs’ requirements for frost depth, snow load, accessory-building setbacks, and floodplain rules near Utah Lake.
