Expert Timber Work in a Tight Space
At Western Timber Frame, precision is not a stretch goal—it’s the baseline. Whether it’s a large-scale commercial installation or a small custom request, we bring the same care, the same standard, and the same heart to every project.
This front entry cover may be modest in size, but it’s full of intention. The homeowner needed something that would shield the door, complement the architecture, and blend seamlessly into a tight space—without losing the character of real timber craftsmanship.
“It’s a unique structure,” said Tom, team leader at Western Timber Frame. “It serves a very unique purpose. And I think it’s awesome.”

A Custom Fit with No Room for Error
When you’re working with minimal space—right up against the home’s siding, brickwork, roofline, and stair railings—every angle matters. In this case, even the arched window above the door had to be accounted for with exacting care.
“You can see the window above the door—those knee braces match perfectly,” Tom noted. “Again, not our biggest, fanciest structure by any stretch. Very, very cool. Very unique.”
It’s the kind of fit that only happens when you measure carefully, design intentionally, and install with craftsmanship that leaves no detail behind.

From Canada to Hawaii, It’s Always Personal
We take pride in building handcrafted timber structures across the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. And we take just as much pride in the small, precise projects as we do in the large, high-visibility ones.
Because for us, it’s never just about size. It’s about listening well, designing carefully, and delivering something meaningful.
“We approach every space—tight or expansive—with the same dedication to detail and design integrity.,” said Tom, a team lead at Western Timber Frame. “This design required someone who could read the space, understand the vision, and take precise measurements to make sure it would both fit and function exactly right.”
This entry wasn’t just custom—it was complex. The designer had to account for the window arch, roofline, stair clearance, and unique structural layout. It took skill, experience, and the kind of craftsmanship that doesn’t cut corners.
We do this work because people matter—and so does their space.
