Everything, All at Once: A Custom Timber Structure

The Right Fit Comes from the Right Questions
You know those moments when someone describes how they want to live—not just what they want built?
That’s how this project began. Not with a long list of must-haves, but with a conversation.
They talked about hosting friends. Finding a quiet spot to relax. Wanting more shade here, a little privacy there. They weren’t asking for something flashy. Just something that worked… beautifully.
And as we listened, it became clear: this wasn’t going to be a simple pavilion or just a pergola.
It needed to be a custom timber structure that blended all of it—comfort, coverage, connection—into one cohesive design.
That’s where things started to click.
After: a Space You Never Want to Leave

Before: a Patio with Good Potential

One Vision. Many Parts.
This backyard build combined a traditional-style pavilion, a custom cabana and pergola extension, privacy screening, and metal roofing—all tied together in one seamless design.
At first glance, you’d never know how many moving parts were involved. But that’s the beauty of it. Every timber, every beam, every finish was designed to feel like it was always meant to be there.
And it was.
After: All the Comforts of Outdoor Living

Before: Hot tub Spa—But No Shelter

It’s All in the Details
The structure used our 6800 Series Douglas Fir timbers, built with 8×8 posts and a Roosevelt Step beam profile that adds elegance without feeling fussy.
It got a two-tone stain treatment that matched perfectly with the home—darker timbers overhead, lighter wood in the tongue-and-groove. Classic.
Add in knife plate hardware, a custom 6/12 roof pitch, and metal roofing for the cabana-style protection?
You’ve got a setup that’s both rugged and refined.
And the privacy panel next to the hot tub? That was the finishing touch. Subtle. Functional. Beautiful.

One Structure. Multiple Needs.
When you take time to combine your wish list into one structure, the result just feels better.
It costs less than piecing things together later. It’s easier to install. And you avoid the “patchwork” look that happens when you try to add things on years down the road.
Whether it’s:
- A pergola for shade
- A pavilion for year-round shelter
- A privacy wall for quiet corners
- A cabana for comfort
—combining it all at once gives you a space that actually flows.

Not Just for Homes
Even though this project was for a private residence, this combo-style design is something we do a lot for commercial spaces too.
We’ve helped restaurants, resorts, schools, and businesses create multi-use timber structures that blend shade, style, and function. And it works—because when you build it right the first time, you don’t have to redo it later.
Want Everything? Start Here.
If you’ve ever imagined a space that gives you more—more comfort, more coverage, more connection—you’re not alone.
Maybe it’s shade for outdoor dinners. A little extra privacy by the hot tub. A design that feels like it belongs with your home, not just added to it.
That’s where we come in.
We listen for the story behind the wishlist—how you actually want to live in your space—and bring it together in one seamless, handcrafted structure.
Because the best builds don’t just check boxes. They feel like they’ve always been there.
Let’s design something that works beautifully from day one and gets even better with time. One structure. Built right. Made for the life you live outside.
