A 12′ × 24′ FullWrap Attached Pergola Kit in Rich Cordoba

Updated August 2026

A Patio Cover That Looks Built-In From Every Angle

When the Fitzgerald family added a shade cover to their back patio, they didn’t want it to look added on. They wanted it to look like it had always been there — finished on every side, part of the house. That’s what a FullWrap™ roof does, and it’s why this attached pergola kit reads as built-in rather than bolted-on.

It’s a 12′ × 24′ 11″ attached pergola in the 8000 Series, finished in Rich Cordoba, over a stamped-concrete patio.

What makes a FullWrap™ roof different

On a standard pergola, the decorative rafter and beam ends show on the front, and the sides are left plainer. A FullWrap™ roof carries the Champion-style profiles around all three open sides, so every edge you can see is finished. There’s no plain “back” to walk past — from the lawn, the patio, or the neighbor’s view, it looks intentional and complete. It’s a small design choice that changes how finished the whole structure feels.

The build, spec by spec

This one was designed around the Fitzgeralds’ patio down to the inch — the odd 24′ 11″ roof length is simply what fit their space exactly. It’s Douglas Fir throughout, with 8-inch posts and custom 4×14 beams, Champion beam profiles, Classic knee braces, and concealed knife-plate anchors at the post bases. The finish is Rich Cordoba, a warm, UV-protected timber stain.

Dense shade that stays comfortable

The 8000 Series shade planks lay dense, comfortable shade — blocking roughly 80–85% of the overhead sun, close to what a mature tree gives you. And because it’s real timber, which conducts heat far more slowly than metal, the beams overhead stay comfortable instead of radiating the afternoon sun back down onto the patio. String lights strung under the roof carry the space right into the evening.

How it holds together — and goes up fast

The timber-to-timber connections use our patented Dovetail Difference® joinery — interlocking wood-to-wood joints that carry the load without relying on exposed bolt hardware, and stand up to wind, snow, and seismic movement over the years. That same precision is why a structure this size still installs quickly: every piece is CNC-cut, pre-fit, and pre-stained at our shop, so on site it goes together the way it was made to.

Western Timber Frame has built more than 7,000 timber structures since 2008, engineered to code in all 50 states — each one, like the Fitzgeralds’, designed around one specific backyard rather than pulled off a shelf. Freight is included in the lower 48.
