A Grand Timber Pavilion Crafted for Commercial Outdoor Living

Large open timber frame pavilion with a gabled roof in a landscaped public park, providing commercial-grade outdoor shelter and gathering space.

A well-designed commercial timber pavilion is more than just a structure—it makes a lasting impression.

This freestanding outdoor pavilion was built as a dedicated space for a private company. It gives employees a place to recharge, hold team meetings, and gather for events. An integrated deck creates a smooth transition from the shaded gathering space to an adjacent tennis area, encouraging recreation and movement throughout the day.

Exposed timber beams and a timeless architectural style add warmth and character. The structure is durable, beautiful, and designed to serve both function and aesthetics for everyday company use.

Built for Gathering, Designed to Last

From its generous footprint to its towering gabled roofline, this pavilion was created to invite community. With a square frame and spacious open sides, it offers flexibility for nearly any use—meals, meetings, programs, events, or everyday shade.

Inside the pavilion, heavy timber beams and classic knee braces create an open and architecturally striking space for employee use.

Heavy-duty timber posts and precision joinery provide long-term durability and architectural elegance in this open-air commercial shade structure.

Each timber was pre-cut, pre-stained, and fitted in our signature interlocking joinery for lasting strength and clean lines. The use of Douglas Fir throughout allows for bold spans, fewer posts, and a sweeping sense of openness beneath the canopy. A two-tone finish—cool gray paired with white tongue-and-groove ceilings—adds a tailored contrast that highlights the natural grain and architectural details.

Timber Craftsmanship on Display

The open-air pavilion provides a shaded space for employees to gather beneath the exposed timber frame and enjoy outdoor breaks or team lunches.

This pavilion features our Roosevelt beam profile, adding graceful curves and notched character to the upper braces and supports. The ceiling structure is open and expressive, showcasing the strength and symmetry of the heavy-timber rafters above.

Classic knee braces reinforce each post-to-beam connection, offering both stability and ornamental beauty. All hardware is discreetly integrated with clean vertical lines and knife-plate connections, allowing the warmth of the wood to remain the visual focus.

This structure uses our Drill For Power™ solution—designed for projects that need customized electrical integration without fixed outlet setups. Unlike standard TimberVolt® models, this system allows power to be routed exactly where it’s needed.

Key Highlights:

  • Each post is core-drilled before assembly for internal wiring

  • No exposed conduit or visible wiring
  • Wiring is protected inside solid timber
  • Clean, timeless finish with full functionality
  • Ideal for commercial and hybrid indoor/outdoor use

Discreetly mounted outlets provide convenient power access without compromising the clean lines of the timber frame.

This makes the pavilion not only a beautiful space, but also one that’s ready to evolve with the company’s needs over time.

Elevated Decking, Seamless Transitions

The raised deck provides a smooth, step-down transition from the timber pavilion into the adjoining recreation and tennis zone.

A wide, integrated deck platform lifts the space off the surrounding grade, offering easy access and a finished feel underfoot. The decking surface—cool-toned and uniform—complements the timber stain and offers long-term performance for commercial wear and weather exposure.

This elevated surface also prepares the site for future expansion, including a separate outdoor kitchen area currently being developed nearby.

Engineered Power + Performance

This pavilion is equipped with pre-wired power posts, making it plug-and-play ready for lighting, sound, or other utility needs. Wires and boxes are seamlessly hidden inside the timber itself, preserving the rustic, natural appearance of the structure while ensuring it’s fully functional for modern outdoor demands.

It’s an ideal solution for commercial spaces where aesthetics and durability matter just as much as practicality.

This pavilion features our Drill For Power™ system, a fully customized power solution built directly into the timber posts. Unlike standard TimberVolt® models, Drill For Power™ does not use fixed outlet setups. Instead, each post is precision-drilled with a clean internal chase, tailored to the exact electrical needs of the project. Whether it’s a single outdoor outlet, multiple power points, or wiring for future upgrades, the power runs invisibly through solid wood. This provides seamless, built-in electrical access—without visible conduit—while preserving the natural beauty of the timber frame.

Commercial Timber Structures That Inspire

Across industries, timber frame architecture is becoming a defining feature of exterior design. Whether it’s for a park, hospitality space, campus, or venue, exposed timber creates an instant atmosphere of craftsmanship, warmth, and welcome.

Unlike steel or aluminum, natural wood structures soften the surrounding space and elevate its perceived value. They complement brick, stone, concrete, and glass—indoors or out—and offer long-term performance with enduring beauty.

This pavilion is a living example of that design philosophy in action. It provides coverage, comfort, and elegance in a single, cohesive build—ready to serve for decades to come.
