Western Timber Frame at the Fall Home & Garden Show — Where Inspiration Meets the Life Outside
Each year, the Fall Home and Garden Show at the Mountain America Expo in Sandy, Utah, brings together some of the best in outdoor living, design, and innovation. This season, Western Timber Frame® once again turned heads with two handcrafted showpieces: a white timber pergola and a redwood timber pavilion, both built with the precision and beauty that define The Dovetail Difference®.

A Showstopper in Every Direction
The booth displayed true timber craftsmanship and let visitors experience the strength and beauty of solid wood design.
Under the crisp white timber frame pergola, woven pendant lights cast a warm, welcoming glow over a full outdoor dining set. The design shows how timber craftsmanship blends beautifully with comfort and modern living. Just a few steps away, the redwood pavilion stood tall and grounded. Its rich tones and texture revealed how natural wood brings true soul to a structure.
From the angled trusses to the hand-cut joinery, every piece reflected what Western Timber Frame is known for: artisan quality, precision engineering, and timeless design.

Real People, Real Stories — and One Lucky Hat
Of course, no show is complete without a little fun. This year’s highlight moment came when we called Ben Michel to tell him he’d just won 15th-row tickets to the BYU vs. Utah rivalry game. His reaction was priceless.
“I’m fishing right now… and I’m actually wearing a Western Timber Frame hat!”
Talk about perfect timing — or maybe just one lucky hat.
Ben was out on the river in Utah, casting lines and rocking some W.T.F. swag, totally unaware he was about to get a call that would make his day. We couldn’t have picked a better winner — someone already living the #lifeoutside, Western Timber Frame-style.
Congrats again, Ben — enjoy the game!
Maybe it’s just a hat — or maybe it’s a little reminder that good things happen when you live life outside.
A Celebration of Craftsmanship & Community
The Fall Home and Garden Show isn’t just about products — it’s about people. Each visitor who stepped into our booth experienced what it feels like to be surrounded by the warmth, weight, and authenticity of real timber. It’s that feeling of home, of being grounded and gathered — what we call the Alpine Retreat vibe.

From casual conversations about design and layout to deep dives into engineering and finishes. The event was a reminder of why we do what we do. We help families and businesses create spaces that bring people together.
