One Loved Pavilion. 3 Years Later, Another.
It’s rare to find a place that works for groups of any size without feeling crowded. Maple Mountain Springs in Mapleton, Utah, does it effortlessly. Maybe that’s because it’s been in the same family for more than a century. It has been shaped by people who know what it takes to keep everyone happy under one roof.

For years, the family has treasured this place for their own time together. They’ve been surrounded by God’s creatures and the quiet beauty of nature. But their vision reached beyond their own circle. They wanted others to feel the same sense of wonder, welcome, and togetherness. This place has been a blessing in their lives, and now they share it with others.

The family here knows what it’s like to be part of a big family. With eight children of their own, they’ve faced the challenge of finding places that welcome large families. They’ve also learned how rare it is to find a space that can truly host everyone comfortably. That’s why they created a destination that works for family reunions, business events, and large gatherings.
A Venue Designed for All Seasons and Events
From summer reunions to winter festivities, the pavilions are designed to keep guests comfortable, sheltered, and connected year-round.
It’s a place that works just as well for commercial events as it does for family gatherings. Business retreats, client appreciation nights, or team celebrations feel right at home here. One pavilion offers a built-in kitchen, while the other includes a bathroom and storage area. Both have the power connections needed for catering, presentations, or live music.
The Upper Pond Pavilion — April 2020
In 2020, we crafted the first timber frame pavilion and it was installed beside the spring-fed upper pond. Finished in Early American stain, it stands on 10″ posts that give it strength and a commanding presence. The design blends naturally with its surroundings.

This pavilion is as functional as it is beautiful. It features a built-in kitchen and plenty of seating for groups. TimberVolt® power keeps lighting, sound, and other essentials close at hand. Over the years, it has been the setting for family celebrations and shared meals. It has also hosted countless moments enjoying the peaceful water views.
Designed for connection and comfort, it continues to serve as a favorite gathering place for the family and their guests. It’s the kind of spot where you can sit down and take in your morning sunlight. Before you know it, you’ve forgotten to check the time.

The main pond Pavilion — February 2023
Three years later, the vision grew. We custom-built a second 3 gable pavilion. It was installed at the lower pond — larger in scale and ready for even more gatherings.

Built from Douglas Fir, the Maple Mountain Springs Pavilion spans 25’9″ x 53′. It showcases a Champion beam profile, 16 classic knee braces, arched accents, and an extra gable for for architectural character. The Two Tone finish creates a crisp, elegant look.
What truly sets it apart: massive 12″ posts that give the structure a commanding presence and enduring strength. Two TimberVolt® Phoenix power posts provide built-in access for lighting, sound, and charging, making it ideal for large events.

As evening settles over Maple Mountain Springs, the pavilion takes on a warm, inviting glow. Lighting spills across the lawn, reflecting off the nearby water and creating the perfect setting for relaxed conversations, intimate dinners, or lively gatherings that stretch late into the night. Whether it’s a family celebration or a corporate event, the illuminated timber frame becomes the heart of the evening.

A Property That Feels Alive
The lower pond is alive with fish — trout, bass, crappie, albino catfish — and on the day I visited, feeding brought the swans gliding in for their share. Over by the tennis area, the property’s emus were curiously stretching their necks toward Michelle’s phone, fascinated by its shine. The baby swans, clustered together in a fuzzy flotilla, were the perfect finishing touch to the scene.
Beyond the pavilions, the property’s 10,800-square-foot home offers 13 bedrooms and enough beds to handle the biggest reunions. Four kitchens, including a gourmet one with high-end appliances, make cooking together part of the fun. There’s a theater room for movie nights and even arcade games for the competitive ones in the group. Outdoors, guests can enjoy incredible children’s play spaces, sports courts, three playgrounds, an outdoor pool and hot tub, and a thrilling zip line near the lower pavilion.

Wildlife is part of the experience — swans, geese, wild turkeys, deer. Leaving the property, a half-mile from the gate, a big buck with heavy antlers crossed the road. It was as if he meant to remind me that here, the pace is never rushed.
Two Pavilions, One Vision
The two timber frame pavilions are more than shade—they’re gathering points. The lower pond offers a vibrant backdrop of activity, while the upper pond brings a deeper sense of stillness. Both share the same calming beauty, inviting every kind of moment you came here for—and a few you didn’t know you needed.
