Elated, Hyrum receiving the 2016 Best of Show Award in behalf of Western Timber Frame™.

Western Timber Frame™ was invited by show management to provide the display for the entrances of South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, Utah for the Utah Valley Spring Home and Garden show. This year we had a total of 16 featured timber frame kits on display throughout the show. For this entrance we set up a Tuscany style timber frame pergola with a combination of square and round patent-pending concrete posts.

I love standing beneath the center of this Tuscany style pergola that opens up with the gorgeous Crescent Step styled beam and rafter ends all facing inward for a dynamic finish. These would be great to look up into a star-lit night in awe at mother nature with this massive-sized, solid cedar timbers. The lattice work also adds to the beauty and protective feel.

Looking up under the roof of the Tuscany style pergola. The roof is a beautiful, solid Cedar wood with a lattices, decorative keystones and Crescent Step style beam rafter end profiles. This gorgeous arched garden arbor was a real hit at the show!  The DIY arbor kit featured two full arched knee braces with decorative keystones, lattices, 4 Classic style knee braces, Axis Step style beam and rafter end profiles with a FullWrap™ around roof finished in the striking, premium Rich Sequoia stain. It was displayed with beautiful lighting, 4 oriental style lamp lights and a center light in the middle of the arch.

Tyler got a shot on his phone before all the crowds of people came. I thought I would include it here as I really liked this outdoor room setting beneath this Contemporary styled pergola and once the doors were open to the show, it was continually filled with people!

We had quite an exciting lineup of Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ timber frame kits this year. This particular one was a real favorite for many with a stunning double tiered roof. I absolutely loved it! Here is a view looking in with an outdoor dining set and hanging chandelier.

The roof of the ShadeScape™ double tiered timber frame pergola kit raises up beneath it for a such a grand and wide open feel. I found myself just staring up into it in total awe. I know I said it before but I really, really loved this one!

These timbers are tough with tremendous load-carrying capacity. Several outdoor televisions sets were mounted to use for testimonials during the show. Here are the Osmond family, a delightful couple who had a pergola installed in their backyard.

It is a lot of fun to photograph these spectacularly large Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ structures but a picture doesn't even come close to what it actually feels like to stand in person next to one of these oversized Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ series shade structures.

This ShapeScape™ garden arbor was amazing! It was so massive with the bottom of its poles encased in brickwork. To me, it had a Douglas fir tree ambience that is so magnificent when seen in nature, like the majesty of the ocean breathing its waves in and out with all its display of power.  The arbor kit features Legacy style knee braces with Crescent Step beam and rafter end profiles and is finished in a premium, high grade Rich Cordoba stain.

Early American, Tuscany Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ pergola with patent-pending concrete posts.

Walking beneath this Tuscany style ShadeScape™ Series timber frame pergola kit that spanned the entire aisle was great! As you looked up it had six different colors of lights that were placed in several places. I would love to see this in the dark outside! What a wonderful setting this would make especially with some colored LED path lights.

Here the guys were anticipating the opening of the show while relaxing on the couches beneath this amazing timber frame pavilion. I loved the spaciousness of this ShadeScape™ structure. Contemporary style ShadeScape™ 8000 Series finished in a Canyon Grey stain with Alpine lattices. That is the best part of a show is that people can actually see and touch these shade structures. Warm is wood to the touch and the size of the beams are awe-inspiring. It was fun to see the excitement of kids who felt drawn with joy, to be inside them.

I have to admit, the kid in me loved being inside these outdoor rooms myself. This was an outdoor room setting beneath an Ebony stained timber frame Traditional Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ pergola kit. The grill and lovely seating area with porcelain pavers and brick work was captivating. The feel was like walking down cobblestone streets bringing you back to a slow down era. It drew you in to just stay and relax. The fireplace was beckoning me to light it.

Here were two Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ timber frame structures that I really bobbled it on. I did not get pictures of them! Luckily, Tyler snapped a couple with his phone. There were so many Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ structures this year! Sad for us all, because this would have been fun to have captured the details of the incredible lighting on this Ebony Western Timber Frame™ Contemporary style ShadeScape™ 10000 Series pergola. The garden arbor (right) that thankfully to Tyler we can see a glimpse of, is a Traditional style with Legacy knee braces, Roosevelt Step beam and rafter end profiles, also finished in the Ebony stain.

Thank-you, thank-you Tyler! I am glad you had a phone. This is another timber frame pergola I did not photograph. This Western Timber Frame™ ShadeScape™ Series had the radius cantilever roof that I love so much, two full arched knee braces with decorative keystones, four Classic style knee braces and finished in the Early American stain.

Since I didn't get a quality shot of the radius cantilevered roof, here is one with a straight front shot.

Bear Lake Beef, selling "All Natural" prime beef had a timber frame pergola displayed over their booth. The timber frame pergola displayed here has Champion style beam and rafter end profiles, Classic style knee braces and is finished in a high-grade Rich Cordoba stain. I really liked these people. Interestingly, they have what is called Japanese Wagyu Beef, a cross between American Angus cattle and Japanese Wagyu cattle they say is the most highly marbled, tender beef in the world.
