Awe Zen Dens w/Fish Starlight & More!

An outdoor living space is a smart way to inhale revitalizing health, in a peaceful setting. The Zen Den of perfection was the focus of Western Timber Frame’s Fall 2017 Home and Garden Show. Here are few of the highlights in the spotlight at this year Home and Garden show.

There is a significant size difference in the two ShadeScape™ pavilions displayed on the main floor. For myself, until placed side by side, it is difficult to picture precisely or compare how they feel and look. It was great to be able to experience them both in the same setting.

ShadeScape™ pavilion features an extended roof that can be for aesthetics, the extendsion of shade, or to protect a designated area such as  a barbecue grill etc. Pictured below is the view below the extended roof.

The arch, throughout ancient history, is seen in practical constructions all over the world. Semicircular arches in architecture are called the Roman arch. The keystone was the central voussoir where the two arcs meet. Arched bridges and large structural buildings utilizing the arch design allow structures to carry a heavier load while more evenly dispersing the weight.

Curvature and arches are a powerful and fundamental element that is not only pleasing to the eyes but has an energetic aura that for centuries have held symbolism and sentiments for many cultures, the most common being creation, and unity.

Leonardo Da Vinci observed, “An arch consists of two weaknesses which, leaning one against the other, make a strength.”

The arched knee braces with decorative keystones are a peaceful flow to the mind of bridges, the bridging of family and community gatherings.

Pavilions offer full overhead protection. The beauty of a two tone solid wood roof is magnificent. With the addition of starlit lights, it was a stunning show stopper that drew the eyes upwards again and again.
