  - Arbor and Trellis structures are an excellent way to accent your backyard living space. In our experience they are often used in conjunction with a pergola, gazebo, or pavilion to accent a walk way, hidden corner, or provide shade for a swing, or bench. Our heavy duty Arbors and Trellises utlize our dovetail joint method for superior strength and a minimum of maintenance.

    There is not an easier heavy timber pavilion or gazebo kit to install than the kits from Western Timber Frame. In many aspects, they are often even easier to install than even inferior flimsy hardware store kits because their sheer size and strength allow posts to stand upright. This combined wtih the interlocking joints makes for a straighforward installation. Our easy interlocking corners and drop in rafter layouts, the hard work is done for you by our experienced craftsman. You simply put it together on site (We do of course provide installation should you desire us to install your kit for you).

  - Pergolas: A backyard structure forming a shaded pathway with posts and beams supporting cross beams creating a lattice-type effect.
    
    Breezeways: A pergola-type structure providing a shaded walkway down a path or leading from one place to another.
    
    Trellises: An architectural structure usually made from interwoven pieces of wood that is often made to support climbing plants.
    
    Porte-cocheres: A covering over the entrance of the house which is usually supported by columns made of wood or stone. It is typically found on circular driveways and is also used to protect you from the rain or weather.
    
    Timber Framing: Literally means “framework”, or half-timbering, which is the method of creating structures utilizing heavy timbers jointed via pegged mortise and tenon joints.
    
    Gazebos: A free-standing structure that is roofed and usually open-sided which provides a shady resting place.
    
    Timber Awnings: A roof-like structure that serves as a shelter over a storefront, window, door, or deck.
    
    Arbors: A shady resting place in a garden or park on which plants such as climbing shrubs or vines can grow.
    
    Timber Entryways: A roofed area usually involving a truss in the front for exposure while providing a passage for entrance into a home or building.
    
    Wood Shutters: A hinged or otherwise decorative covering attached to the side(s) of a window on the exterior of a home or building.
    
    Timber Decks: A floored structure, typically with a railing, that adjoins a house.

Saratoga Springs Kneader’s Bakery Pergola Wadsworth Pergola–Before and After

Summer is starting to wind down and Fall is on its way! In this post we have a couple of pergolas to share with you. The first one is the Kuhni pergola. At 16′ x 20′, finished in Rich Cordoba stain and featuring the Champion profile, this timber structure is absolutely beautiful! Following the Kuhni pergola, we have the Carter pergola. This full-size pergola is 10′ x 13′, finished with Rich Sequoia stain and features the Champion profile as well. This free standing pergola has a deck and stairs attaching it to the home, providing a perfect place to step out and enjoy the fresh air!
